Auro has been backstage several times, one time as a model for her own design. After the event she would tell me how it went, what she liked, and other details. I've never stopped to think about photographing the sweet mayhem that takes place before a show. So when I went to the backstage of the Nelson-Atkins Fashion Show I kept asking myself: Now what? What do I shoot? Do I need to ask for permission? I hope I don’t get in the way of anybody or trip over a cable or something; so yes I was a bit nervous.

Will and I were pretty exited about attending the KCFW Bubbles and Bow Ties. It was the perfect occasion to get all dressed up and fancy. We headed to West Bottoms, Kansas City, where the venue, R24 Studios, is located. R24 is an artisan crafted luxury furniture store, and yes, we actually sat on art work (Marshall @ HIMYM). After being greeted at the door, we waited in line for the first set of pictures as the music played upstairs on the third floor.

Will and I have been making plans for our near future and I couldn’t be more excited. The trick when you plan is that you also have to learn to appreciate the beauty of what life gives you.
