Chiefs of the Runway - KCFW

Last Thursday night (10/13), the Kansas City Chiefs latest fan apparel was seen in a very different field. Far away from turf and bleachers, a collection of Chiefs’ inspired-wear was showcased at the Kansas City Fashion Week. The first styles shown were a glimpse of the cheerful outfits that would follow.

The show continued with a shimmering jewelry collection by Georgina Herrera (MCK Brands). The luxurious chokers, bracelets, arm cuffs and earrings were elegantly paired with black garments and straight, slicked back hairstyles.

Keefe Cravat had its own way of making their neckwear stand out; dressed in white, the models exhibited colorful neck and bow ties. A fearless attitude took over the runway as they marched, along with the designer, at the end of the segment.

The audience’s excitement heightened as the presenter announced the Chiefs Designer Challenge. Designers got to create Chiefs-inspired outfits for a chance to win a $1,000 grant.

The winner was Kiana Godsey, a fashion design student at Johnson County Community College, who also presented her dreamy Summer/Spring collection that night.

Designers Roger Figueroa and Barbara Bultman also caught the audience’s attention and interest, with flawless dresses (Figueroa) and my all time favorite, garments with fringes (Bultman).

The event finalized with a happy and relaxed note as the models that were wearing Chiefs apparel started to dance on the runway; it truly became a Chief’s Kingdom!

I want to thank my beautiful companion, Kim, for joining me. It was such a fun night and I continue to be excited for what’s coming next!
