Valentine's Special

It’s Valentine’s Day! The one day a year you get a green light to be gooey and romantic, kiss in public, and go crazy with heart-shaped things (cards, pancakes, and hairdo’s). Well, I couldn’t let this opportunity go to waste. I am a newly-wed and very much in love. So here it goes. My Valentine’s special: wedding pictures and a true love story.

The first song Will and I danced as a married couple was: At Last, by Etta James. It goes like this:

Some of you might know that Will and I have moved to the US, but most people don’t know that before that, we had to live in separate countries for six months. The longest six months of my life. We daydreamed of the moment when we would see each other again. And for sure, when I saw him in that airport, when I kissed him… I couldn’t help but think of this song. At last...

We moved to a new country, we got married, we started a new life. Although there are a million things I love about our relationship, I want to take advantage of the occasion to thank Will for being an awesome husband. Here are 5 things I love about you and us.

1. You are my friend

From funny nicknames to pranks and crazy dances. You are there for all the silliness and all the seriousness. I love that you are my friend.

2. Plans together

We plan pictures, and blog posts, meals and trips. It doesn’t matter if today’s plans are a How I Met your Mamma episode or a road trip, I will always love spending time with you either way.

3. An artist

I love to see your view of the world. You tell so many stories through your pictures and writings. I will always admire your talent, your methods and intelligence.
