Culture in Barrio Amón

Last Saturday, March 5th we had the opportunity to attend the Amón Cultural event, in Barrio Amón. Several businesses and institutions from the same neighborhood got together to offer its visitors everything from guided tours, tea samples, concerts, and dance presentations to art-creating activities, such as writing on a wall or coloring a sidewalk.

Five different maps were drawn to show the activities offered for each taste: scenic arts, environment, urban life, architecture, and design. Of course, there was a special map with discounts so that gastronomy lovers could enjoy what each café or restaurant had to offer.

Recently we have attended this type of cultural event, always with good expectations that have been met. Last year, we enjoyed a Sunday under the sun in Barrio Escalante (see here). Next March 19th we will be at the Feria de Diseño Gourmet in Los Yoses.  You are welcome to join us, just let us know if you will be stopping by and if you would like to take a few pictures with us.

We think it’s a good idea to promote this type of event as it meets our goal of enjoying the colors of Costa Rica.
